HubSpot Connection Permissions Error

 

If you are attempting to connect your HubSpot account and receive an error that you don't have sufficient permission to link the account (Fig. 1), there are a couple of things to check.

First, be sure that you have administrative access to the HubSpot portal you're attempting to connect. Authorizing API access to the Hub is a process reserved for users with elevated access inside of HubSpot. Most of the time, this shouldn't be a problem.

The most frequent cause of this error is that the HubSpot account you're attempting to connect is ineligible for API authorization. Free and Basic HubSpot Marketing accounts are not able to authorize third-parties to access data on their behalf via the API, which is required to implement a reporting tool like Dasheroo. HubSpot has more information about the necessary subscription tiers available in their developer documentation.

Unfortunately, if this is the case, there's nothing we can do to help. The subscription requirements for API access are established by HubSpot.
