Great question — we’ll do our best to play YouTube Customer Support here. YouTube actually tracks video stats in two different ways within their app. When looking at a video you’ll be able to see the historical view of stats for that video which will often show a higher view count. But when viewing the Analytics section of that specific video you’ll notice that the stats may be lower and this is because it’s tracking engagement actions that have taken place within a specified timeframe.
In addition, YouTube only provides video view Analytics from January 1st, 2013 - present. See this link for more information: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1714329?ref_topic=1714326&guide=1714169
