Why are alerts not available for some insights?

While many insights available within Dasheroo can support alerts, some cannot. If an insight does not support alerts you’ll see this message:

 

Insights that can support alerts are typically ones where we receive a numeric value from the provider that you’ve connected to (i.e. Google Analytics, Twitter, etc). Examples would be values for new and returning website visitors or the total number of Twitter followers.

Certain insights such as the RSS insight or the Facebook Highest Engagement Posts insight, as two examples, cannot support alerts due to the fact that they do not have numeric values being tracked or the specific values are computed on the Dasheroo side rather than coming from the provider.

We’ll be working to support alerts for computed metrics in the future and we’ll be sure to update you once that’s available.
